The by-law will come into force on <span style=\"background-color: #ffff99;\"><strong>March 28, 2023<\/strong><\/span> but, in the meantime, establishments can begin the transition toward compliance.<br \/><br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-50199\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ralik.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/plastiques-usage-unique-mtl.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"355\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ralik.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/plastiques-usage-unique-mtl.png 1005w, https:\/\/www.ralik.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/plastiques-usage-unique-mtl-300x133.png 300w, https:\/\/www.ralik.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/plastiques-usage-unique-mtl-768x341.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The by-law prohibits the distribution of eight single-use plastic items, whether or not they are compostable, in food service establishments and restaurants in Montr\u00e9al. This includes trays (except for meat and fish), plates, containers and their covers, cups, glasses, cup or glass covers, stir sticks and utensils.
